Leeway Is Getting Prepared for the Challenges of Autumn

02 September 2022

leaves of autumn

It has been a busy couple of months at Leeway and we wanted to take the opportunity to update supporters on a couple of key things as the summer draws to a close and we head towards autumn.

Cost of Living

One of our recent blogs looked at the impact of the cost-of-living crisis, which is already affecting survivors of domestic abuse and will continue to do so in the coming months.

Finances are so often a barrier to accessing support, and it is a huge concern that rising bills and living costs will add further barriers, leaving many people feeling trapped with the perpetrator of their abuse.

We want to encourage anyone experiencing domestic abuse to reach out for support during this difficult time – it is free, confidential and non-judgemental, and there are various ways in which you can contact us.

Also, be sure to look out for family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues. We all have a role to play in tackling domestic abuse and that includes looking out for others.

New Office

As some of you may have seen on our social media channels, Leeway has recently moved out of our old Head Office and will be moving into our new premises. This is very exciting, but it means that we are currently unable to accept donations at this time whilst everything is being sorted, until we have room to store these items again.

Our service delivery remains unaffected, and we will continue to provide the best possible support for anyone experiencing domestic abuse.

We will communicate any further updates with supporters when we have further news. Thank you to everyone that has donated and supported the charity, it is hugely appreciated!

Join the Team

We have recently secured additional funding, which has meant that we are able to recruit additional staff for some of our teams! This is fantastic news and enables us to enhance and sustain the support that we provide.

Our Jobs page has a few other roles within Leeway and NIDAS, with a description of all listed roles available online. An application form can also be downloaded directly from the page, if you are interested in applying for any of the Vacancies. If you have any questions about any of the roles, please email admin@leewaynwa.org.uk
