Norwich Refuge Domestic Abuse Caseworker

Job Title: Refuge Domestic Abuse Caseworker

Based: Norwich Refuge

Hours: 37hrs per week

Salary: £25,803 (pro rata)

Benefits include: 6% pension contribution, training and continuous professional development, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and a day off for your brirthday, staff reward ½ day off between Decemeber and January, 6 weeks paid sick leave (after completion of probation), paid 30 minute lunch, 24 hour telephone counselling service, clinical supervision, , staff prize draws, gift vouchers, salary advance and loan schemes.

A full driving license, car business insurance & access to a car to travel is required.

Job Purpose:

  • To provide an effective, supportive and confidential service for women and children requiring emergency temporary safe accommodation.
  • To provide crisis management, support and guidance to women who have experienced domestic abuse
  • To ensure that the safe accommodation operational policies procedures are implemented and adhered to.
  • To ensure all statistical data is collated and maintained for stakeholders and funding bodies.
  • To support the Service Co-ordinator in developing the safe accommodation service to deliver the best possible outcomes for safe accommodation residents.
  • To participate in the out of hours on-call system for all Leeway safe accommodation
  • Hours of work are on a rota basis between 9.30am-6.30pm Monday - Friday & Saturday 9.30am-130pm

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification or two years’ experience of working with women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse, for a statutory or voluntary agency.
  • Experience of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
  • The Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to use Microsoft office, database systems case management and report writing.
  • To be flexible

Desirable Requirements: Experience in working in a residential setting.

Communications Officer

Job Title: Communications Officer

Contract Hours: 22.2 hours per week

Annual Salary: £32,323 FTE

Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 6% pension contribution

Workplace: Hybrid working available

Accountable to: Chief Executive Officer

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • To develop and deliver impactful, relevant and responsive communications, which highlight the wide-ranging effects of domestic abuse, and showcase Leeway’s support services
  • To develop and maintain excellent media relationships, to ensure Leeway is recognised as an expert in its field, and approached for comment on all local and national Domestic Abuse related news

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to produce and manage Leeway’s Communications Strategy.
  • To develop, implement and monitor an annual plan, outlining how Leeway is meeting its Communications Strategy.
  • To support the management of Leeway’s brand and brand guidelines, ensuring its application across all Leeway marketing materials.
  • To support the Managers and Senior Management Team to produce marketing materials, such as posters, leaflets, reports, brochures, newsletters, graphics and videos to enhance Leeway’s brand image and voice
  • To work in partnership with the Fundraising Officer, to meet the objectives of the Income Generation Plan, through the promotion of the organisation’s services, fundraising and donation opportunities
  • To support the Chief Executive to respond to media enquiries from press, TV and radio outlets, including crisis responses
  • To build and maintain positive relationships with journalists, and content creators
  • To lead the organisation’s social media output, promoting the charity’s services, aims and objectives, as well as raising awareness of domestic abuse.
  • To support the management of Leeway’s website, liaising with external developers to ensure that it is up-to-date and promotes the organisation’s vision, values, objectives and branding.
  • To build and maintain relationships with communications contacts at partner agencies, promoting Leeway’s partnership work across Norfolk and Suffolk.
  • Record media coverage and measure impact of public campaigns on audience engagement

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all Leeway policies
  • Ensure the effective implementation of Leeway Equality and Diversity policies
  • Ensure the service user is at the heart of all service delivery and development
  • Attend all meetings and training relevant to your role
  • Act as an ambassador for Leeway
  • To carry out other duties appropriate to the post as requested by your line manager or other manager or Board member
