Local Business Pledges to Help Fund Our Advice and Support Line

01 May 2018
domestic abuse advice and support line

Our advice and support line is an integral part of our work: providing a free, 24-hour, confidential and non-judgmental place where people can receive help and advice. In 2016/17, over 2,000 service users accessed Leeway’s advice and support line, with a further 500 professionals using the service. We’re delighted to announce that a local business, New Adventure (Norfolk) Limited, has pledged to donate £2500 per year for 3 years to go towards providing our advice & support line service.

Jonathan, Managing Director of New Adventure (Norfolk), said:

“Leeway provides an invaluable service to those affected by domestic abuse. I’m a small one man business who wants to make a long term commitment to help make a difference, and no business is too small to give.”

Mandy Proctor, Chief Executive of Leeway, said:

“Our advice and support line is really important. The service is often the first point of contact for those experiencing domestic abuse. To have the very generous backing of New Adventure (Norfolk) is fantastic. It will ensure that we are able to provide high-quality support to those accessing our advice and support service.”

Business Support

We are extremely grateful for the excellent support that we receive from lots of local and national businesses and organisations. The donations that we receive help us to deliver high-quality services to those experiencing domestic abuse. These are some ways that businesses can help to raise funds and support our services:

  • Hold a one-off event. Bake sales, bingo nights and race nights are popular ways of raising money for a good cause.
  • Take part in one of our events. We organise charity skydives for the adventurous, quiz nights for the competitive and fundraising balls for the gregarious.
  • Attend one of our business training sessions. We run regular domestic abuse awareness training sessions tailored specially for businesses.
  • Donate prizes to be raffled at events. We’re always amazed at the generosity of our donors. Alongside premium products, we have also raffled or auctioned vouchers for experiences such as a photography shoot or day out at a theme park.
  • Nominate us as your Charity of the Year. We have had some organisations raising money throughout the year and then donating a big lump sum to us. Staff Call are the most recent, but we have also been Norwich Beer Festival and Mills & Reeve charity of the year.
