HOW YOU CAN HELP

Without support from local organisations, trusts and the general public, Leeway would sadly not be able to continue to fund our services. Last year alone we were able to support over 5000 adults and children across Norfolk and Suffolk. With your donations we can not only continue this but hopefully grow, in order to support even more people who need our help.

What your money can pay for

  • £1 could buy a book for our playgroup
  • £10 could buy a week’s breakfast supply for a family staying in the refuge
  • £50 could convert a normal mobile phone to a safety phone (‘Fones for Safety’ scheme)
  • £100 could enable 10 women to receive outreach support
  • £1000 could enable us to run 30 drop in centres

Legacies

A legacy of any size makes such a difference to the lives of the women and children Leeway helps.

How To Leave A Legacy In Your Will

There are different types of gift or legacies that you could make:

  • Pecuniary Legacy: a fixed sum gift
  • Specific Legacy: a particular item gift i.e. a painting, a piece of jewellery
  • Residuary Legacy: a share or percentage of your estate (the residue) once all gifts, debts, specific costs and funeral expenses etc. have been deducted
  • Reversionary Legacy: a gift that is left to someone for use during their lifetime, after which it then goes to another person or to a charity, specified by you. i.e. a house

If you choose to leave a gift or legacy to a charity or voluntary organisation it will be tax free and can reduce your inheritance tax.

Why Leave A Legacy To Leeway

Writing a will is the best way to make sure your estate is passed on to family and friends exactly as you wish. You may also want to do something for people outside of your immediate family, to help make a difference to the lives of others, by leaving a gift to a charity. A legacy can help a large number of people in need through allowing huge differences to the continuation of services charities are able to offer.
