Treasure Hunt  – Sunday 17th October 2010

Embrace your sense of adventure and test your local knowledge by taking part in this car treasure hunt in aid of Leeway.  Discover places you have never seen before and finish a beautiful day out with the family at Dunston Hall for a 2 course carvery, prize giving and bumper raffle to raise money for Leeway.

Team  – as many people as you can fit in a car    Distance – no more than 80 miles unless you get really lost

Start Time – registration from 9.30am, start time 10.00am at B & Q car park, 5 Neatmarket, Hall Rd, Norwich, NR4 6EG

Duration – 3 to 5 hours finishing at Dunston Hall for a fabulous carvery and prizes to winning teams

Entry Fee – £12.00 per adult, £6.00 per child and one cool raffle prize – fee includes 2 course carvery meal at Dunston Hall

Leeway’s Big Cake Break              

Leeway’s Big Cake Break Leeway wants you to eat cakes!  Yes, what could be easier than eating cake and having a great time whilst doing so.  All you need to do is organise a Big Cake Break.  It’s simple, just; pick a date – the official week is during National Domestic Violence Week In November, but you can hold yours any day of the year, that suits you -  buy or bake some cakes, invite your friends, family, colleagues or neighbours to enjoy eating them, whilst asking everyone to make a donation for Leeway, for the cakes they eat.

Anyone can get involved, this is a fun and easy way to raise some vital funds, to help women and children in Norfolk, who are suffering from abuse.  It doesn’t matter if you raise £5 or £50, every penny will make a difference.  You could add a competitive twist to your Cake Break by turning it into a baking competition with your colleagues, or hold a cake stall, what ever you do and however you do it, the money raised will make a real difference to local women and children, who are living with domestic abuse.

Jarrold Refuge Appeal

Jarrold Department store in Norwich, have kindly agreed to partner Leeway in our Refuge Appeal.  Last year we opened two new refuges, in Norwich and North Norfolk and are asking for your help. We need your support, to help equip these buildings, so we can accommodate women and children fleeing domestic abuse. To help, all you need to do is a purchase an item of your choice, from our refuge appeal list. This item will then be donated to us and be used directly, in one of the new refuges, by the women and children we support. Any item you donate, however big or small will contribute to equipping the flats, so we can accommodate women and children, who need help. Jarrold’s department store are kindly helping us with this project, by setting up an appeal wish list (like a wedding list), which provides a list of items, like tin openers and plates, which we need, to equip the refuges. Please follow this link to help Leeway now. To access the list please enter ‘Leeway’ in the Grooms Name and ‘Charity’in the Brides Name. It’s very simple and quick to do, just login, select the item and quantity you wish to purchase and fill in your details. Alternativley purchases can be made, either by visiting the store in Norwich or by using the contact details below. Jarrolds will deliver the item to us, free of charge. The new refuges will provide single women or women and their children with their own secure self contained flat to allow them with the space and time they need, to make safe decisions about their future. Each item donated will be used in the refuges, directly benefiting women and children on a daily basis. Your support is invaluable and will help us to keep women and children safe from abuse. Leeway is recruiting members for our fundraising committee. Join our committee, help us to find new ideas and put them into practice. The committee is 100% voluntary, therefore the frequency and location of meetings are agreed by members and it is not compulsory to attend all of them.
