A telephone helpline 08452 412 171 – Our helpline is available to men, women and children across Norfolk and Suffolk, to offer confidential, non-judgmental advice and support. Our telephone helpline operates between 9am-8pm, Monday to Friday. This number is diverted to a skilled out of hours worker outside of these times for emergencies.
Outreach services for women – Our skilled outreach workers in Norfolk and Suffolk meet women in a safe environment to offer practical and emotional support as well as advice on issues such as finances, housing, welfare, safety and legal issues. Drop-in centres for women - We hold regular drop-in centres across Norfolk and Suffolk, where women can meet with a skilled worker for advice, support and information. As with all of Leeway’s community services, drop-in sessions are free, confidential and non-judgmental. Please call us on 08452 412 171 for locations, dates and times in your area.
Court advocacy for women - We offer one to one advice and emotional support to women where the perpetrator is being prosecuted through the Criminal Justice System. This includes safety planning, arranging pre-trial court visits, and updating the victim with bail conditions/results and signposting for further support. The advocacy worker is the single point of contact for the victim and will liaise with the police and CPS on her behalf to organise statements, photographs etc. A telephone advice line is also provided to those women not wishing to access the full service.
Male victim support – Leeway has specialist workers in Norfolk and Suffolk to support male victims of domestic violence. Please call us on 08452 412 171 for further advice, support and information.
Services for children and young people – We offer a range of services for children and young people who have been/are victims or have witnessed domestic abuse within their homes and families. We have dedicated children's workers who provide advice and support to children in the community. All children’s workers liaise closely with schools and take on the legal responsibility for child protection issues.
